Anushka Sharma in her debut movie ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’ enacted the character of Shruti Kakkar a girl who aims to have her own wedding planning company. This was quite progressive for this time because it was one of the first times where the female character is ambitious for her career. In real, Anushka also breathed new life into the character and Shruti was depicted as a strong, independent woman who strives to come out of small town and achieve whatever she wants. That was quite a role because it was refreshing to see a woman’s character in Bollywood that was not the typical stereotype and showed the world Anushka’s talent of choosing substantial roles.
