‘Fear Was…’: Nag Ashwin Gets Candid On Filming Kalki 2898 I PRABHAS I DEEPIKA I AMITABH
The film in its first week, had minted about Rs 414.85 crore, and added another Rs 128.5 crore to its kitty in the second week. The collection witnessed a drop in the third week, where it earned just Rs 56.1 crore , taking the total to Rs 599.45 crore.The film was expected to cross Rs 600 crore mark in the third week itself, but missed it by a whisker.
But the film crossed the magical mark of Rs 600 crore on Friday, July 19. Very few films in Indian cinema have been able to achieve this. On Friday, the film earned Rs 2.9 crore, on Saturday the collections jumped to Rs 6.1 cr, and on Sunday, they jumped even higher to collect Rs 8.4 crore , thus taking the weekend total to Rs 17.4 crore and overall total to Rs 616.85 crore.
Work on Kalki 2 has already begun, with the makers already completing 30-35 days of work by the time the first part was released. The team would be soon hitting the writing room on how to take the story ahead. In an exclusive interview with ETimes, director Nag Ashwin shared that he already has the script chalked out, and they will be answering newer questions in the second part.
The film has also crossed the US $ 18 million mark in North America, making it the second biggest Indian film in the circuit behind SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2- The Conclusion.
