In his 2018 Facebook post titled “My Love Letter For Sridevi’s Fans,” Ram Gopal Varma discussed the disparity between Sridevi’s public image and her private reality. He described her life as a classic example of how one’s actual experience can be vastly different from public perception. Despite her seemingly perfect life, he noted that Sridevi was not truly happy. He wrote:
“For many, Sridevi’s life was perfect. Beautiful face, great talent, seemingly stable family with two beautiful daughters. From outside everything looked so enviable and desirable… But was Sridevi a very happy person and did she lead a very happy life?”

Ram Gopal Varma also highlighted that, despite her undeniable beauty, Sridevi was deeply concerned about aging—a common fear for many actresses. To combat this, she underwent occasional cosmetic surgeries. He shared:
“She was the most beautiful woman for so many people. But did she think she was beautiful ? Yes she did ,but every actresses nightmare is age and she was no exception. For years she was doing ocassional cosmetic surgeries the effects of which can be clearly seen.”
Additionally, Boney Kapoor, in an interview with The New Indian Express, revealed startling details about Sridevi’s life. He disclosed that at the time of her death, Sridevi was on a strict diet and often starved herself to maintain her weight, striving to preserve her appearance for the screen.
