At the 70th National Film Awards, the film Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva achieved remarkable success, winning accolades that highlight its significant impact on Indian cinema. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, this fantasy action-adventure film not only captivated audiences but also garnered critical acclaim for its innovative storytelling and stunning visual effects.
The film secured three prestigious awards: Best Music Direction, Best Male Playback Singer for Arijit Singh‘s enchanting track ‘Kesariya,’ and Best Film in the Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comics (AVGC) category.
Alia Bhatt, the film’s leading lady, expressed her joy and pride on social media, celebrating this milestone with her followers. She shared the official winning poster on her Instagram stories, originally posted by Dharma Productions, and captioned it with the heartfelt message, “Only love and light.” This simple yet profound statement encapsulated the positive energy and dedication that the cast and crew poured into the project.

Alia's Story

Ayan Mukerji’s vision for Brahmastra was ambitious, aiming to create a cinematic experience that blended mythology with contemporary storytelling. The film features a stellar cast, including Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, and Mouni Roy, who brought the characters to life with their powerful performances. Mukerji’s approach to filmmaking involved extensive research into Indian mythology, allowing him to weave a narrative that resonated with both audiences and critics.
In his remarks following the awards, Mukerji expressed immense gratitude for the recognition, stating, “It’s a special day for us. I am deeply grateful for the recognition Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva has received at the National Awards.” He emphasized the importance of the film’s music, composed by Pritam, which played a crucial role in enhancing the overall cinematic experience. Mukerji noted, “Pritam Da’s compositions, coupled with Amitabh’s lyrics and Arijit’s voice, is something I feel so proud and grateful for!”
One of the standout features of Brahmastra is its groundbreaking visual effects, which set new standards for Indian cinema. The film’s success in the AVGC category at the National Film Awards underscores the innovative work done by the visual effects team.
