After his remarks began trending online, Nani clarified his stance in an interview with Mid-Day, admitting that his choice of words could have been better. He explained that his reaction was fueled by his deep respect and love for Prabhas, but acknowledged that after watching the full interview with Arshad, he understood the context better.
“Arshad Warsi ji is a very good actor and we all loved him in Munna Bhai, not just north or south, but the whole of India. It’s a household movie. When we sit with our friends in our homes, we can rip films and actors apart. But being actors, we need to be extra careful with our choice of words. So, in that way, him and me, both are victims,” Nani shared.
Arshad Warsi’s Social Media Flooded with Hate Over Prabhas Comment
Nani stressed that one should be careful with words, especially as actors whose opinions are often scrutinized. He expressed regret over his own comments and suggested that both he and Arshad might have chosen their words more wisely. He also mentioned that social media often blows such controversies out of proportion and urged people not to take online fan wars seriously.
Nani concluded by expressing hope that the incident wouldn’t affect the camaraderie between Bollywood and South Indian cinema, stating that the industry is more united than ever. He even joked about the possibility of bumping into Arshad Warsi and sharing a friendly hug.
