‘Stree 2‘ is here to stay for some more time and it’s quite evident from the numbers it’s generating. The third weekend numbers of the fim were just amazing as it saw a jump in the business. The Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao starrer made Rs 16 crore on second saturday which was almost double of its Friday numbers. On Sunday, the film made around Rs 22 crore at the box office.The combined number of the third weekend was around Rs 36 crore which is much more than what many films have been making in their first weekend lately.
However, it saw a huge drop on Monday. The film managed to make Rs 6.50 crore on Monday according to Sacnilk. Thus, the total collection of ‘Stree 2’ so far in India, is Rs 486 crore net. It was expected that if it makes double digit numbers or atleast around Rs 10 crore on Monday and Tuesday each, then it will cross the Rs 500 crore mark by Tuesday evening. However, this drop in collections, might further delay that. Though, the movie has crossed that mark when it comes to the worldwide and gross collections.
‘Stree 2’ has no major competition in the coming days and hence it’s expected to continue to remain steady. Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Emergency‘ which is also directed by her, was supposed to release this Friday, however the film has delayed. This will give ‘Stree 2’ more chance at the box office with an open window for the next few days.
