Are Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal getting back into shape for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War, opposite Alia Bhatt? | Hindi Movie News Filmymeet

Post the success of Gangubai Kathiawadi and Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali is returning to the romantic genre with Love And War, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal and Alia Bhatt. In an interview with Variety, the director revealed that the film is a love triangle, and that it has been a long time since the industry saw this kind of love story.

Reports are now doing the rounds that the shooting for the film is going to start from October, and it is slated to release in December of 2025.ETimes has now exclusively learned new details about the film. The first is that both Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal will be playing officers in the armed forces of the country, and have been asked by Bhansali to get into shape of the men in service. Both actors had bulked up for their last respective films Animal and Chhava, while Ranbir at one point, was also training for Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayan.
Another source revealed that the film is a modern adaptation of Raj Kapoor’s Sangam which also had the same tropes as Bhansali’s next. The shooting schedule as reported by Pinkvilla, also gives a peek about the storyline of the film where Ranbir (Action), Ranbir – Vicky (Friendship), Vicky-Alia (Romance), Ranbir -Alia (Romance & Drama), and Ranbir x Alia x Vicky (The conflict) will come together.
Sangam was one of the biggest hits of 1964 with the lead cast of Raj Kapoor, Rajendra Kumar and Vyjayanthimala. The film revolves around Raj Kapoor’s love for Vyjayanthimala, who is in love with Rajendra Kumar’s character, who is best friends with Raj Kapoor!
