Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu made quite the fashion statement at the much-awaited trailer launch of ‘Citadel: Honey Bunny’ in Mumbai.
During the event, the actress, who plays the leading role of Honey, explained her reasons for choosing the project. She stated, “Historically, spy series and films have always centred around male characters who engage in thrilling action, deliver iconic lines, and save the day. What sets this series apart is that I get to partake in the action, which is fantastic. With Citadel, I’m thrilled to be part of an internationally connected spy world, working alongside talented individuals like Priyanka Chopra and Matilda De Angelis, and taking on significant roles ourselves. It’s a remarkable opportunity to finally represent women in society in this way.”
Reflecting on the future of women in cinema, Samantha expressed her desire for equal opportunities in the industry. She stated, “I envision a level playing field where intelligence, talent, and strength determine one’s fate, irrespective of gender. That would be an incredible achievement. I’m also delighted to be part of a world where this movement has already begun to take center stage. The chance to collaborate with talent from around the globe has expanded significantly. The platform has become much broader, and it feels like the future is bright for everyone.”
Starring Varun Dhawan and Samantha in action-packed roles, the show is directed by Raj & DK of The Family Man fame. It also stars Kay Kay Menon, Simran, Saqib Saleem, Sikander Kher, Soham Majumdar, Shivankit Parishar and Kashvi Majmundar, in pivotal roles. The six-episode series will premiere globally on Prime Video on November 7, 2024.
