The film opened massively in the first week, where it minted Rs 215.6 crore, with Rs 164 crore coming from Telugu and Rs 44 crore from Hindi. In the second week, the collection dropped by nearly 80 %, as it collected only Rs 45.25 crore, of which Rs 29.17 came from Telugu and 14.35 crore came from Hindi. And over the next six days of this week, the film has added another Rs 18.45 crore to its kitty, taking the 20 day total to Rs 279.40 crore. And going by the numbers, the film is all set to cross the Rs 280 crore mark by the end of the day. The film has a lifeline this week, as both Hindi films Jigra and Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video have underperformed, and no big film is releasing till 1st November. But all said and done, it would be unlikely for Jigra to cross to Rs 300 crore mark.
The film marked the Telugu debut of Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor, while Bobby Deol has been roped in to play the antagonist for the second installment. The film features Jr NTR in a dual role of father-son, Devara and Vara. Jr NTR will now be seen with Hrithik Roshan and Kiara Advani in Ayan Mukerji directed War 2.
