As a movie title puts it correctly, Bollywood star Salman Khan is ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan.’ Every newcomer, and aspiring actress dreams of making her debut opposite Salman Khan. Therefore, when a statement claimed that a Bollywood diva rejected Salman Khan’s offer for her debut film, it shocked his fans! And that actress is none other than the ‘Stree 2’ star Shraddha Kapoor.(In Shraddha’s defence, “woh stree hai woh kuch bhi kar sakti hai”)
In an old interview, Shraddha Kapoor mentioned getting the offer to play lead in the 2005 ‘Lucky: No Time For Love.’ She was merely 16 back then and though she had dreamt of being an actress and getting all the offers in the world, at that age she only wanted to focus on her studies. Since Shraddha Kapoor declined the role, it went into the lap of Sneha Ullal. It’s been a decade since the release of ‘Lucky: No Time for Love,’ yet people recognize her for the character of the young school girl that she played. Even though the film wasn’t able to get much recognition at the box office, it turned a new page for Sneha Ullal. As she got into the limelight, the industry couldn’t help but notice her uncanny resemblance with Aishwarya Rai, and she gained immense popularity for it.
Meanwhile, reflecting on her decision to let go of an offer opposite Salman Khan, Shraddha Kapoor said this in an old interview with Hindustan Times – “I felt that at the age of 15 or 16, I was too young and wanted to finish schooling and attend college. I don’t think getting offers back then has defined my success. But it was difficult to turn it down and focus on studies because it was such a fantastic opportunity to work with Salman Khan.”
Shraddha Kapoor then debuted in 2010, with the movie ‘Teen Pati.’ It starred Amitabh Bachchan and R Madhavan as well. The movie wasn’t able to leave an impact. Shraddha only became famous after the release of her third movie ‘Aashiqui 2.’ Since then, there has been no looking back for the actress. She has worked in several films, all hailing from different genres. She did ‘ABCD 2,’ ‘Haseena Parikh,’ ‘Ek Villain,’ ‘Saaho,’ ‘Stree’ amd more. Currently, she is basking in the success of her latest movie ‘Stree 2’ which broke all box office records. After ruling the big screen for weeks, the horror comedy starring Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, and more is now available for streaming on Prime Video.
