'Venom: The Last Dance' Box Office collection: Tom Hardy's final bow gets best opening for the franchise in India with Rs. 4.65 crore, expected to rise over the weekend

Tom Hardy returns as the iconic anti-hero in ‘Venom: The Last Dance‘ (Venom 3), which premiered on October 24, 2024. Directed by Kelly Marcel, this film is the concluding chapter of the Venom saga, following ‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage’ (2021). The excitement surrounding its release was palpable, as fans anticipated a thrilling conclusion to the franchise.
The initial box office performance of ‘Venom: The Last Dance’ has been noteworthy, particularly in India. As per Sacnilk, on its opening day, the film grossed approximately Rs. 4.65 crore across various languages. This included Rs. 2.25 crore from English screenings, Rs. 1.65 crore from Hindi, Rs. 0.4 crore from Tamil, and Rs. 0.35 crore from Telugu. Despite this promising start, the film’s performance has not eclipsed that of other superhero films like ‘Deadpool 3’, which managed to earn around Rs. 43.65 crore within the same timeframe.
As per early estimates for the second day, ‘Venom: The Last Dance’ will experiene a significant boost, achieving an impressive increase of over 60% in box office collections. It is expected approximately Rs. 7.45 crore on Friday, bringing its total net collection to Rs. 12.1 crore in just two days. This upward trend indicates a positive reception from audiences.
The film features a strong cast alongside Hardy, including Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rhys Ifans, and Juno Temple in pivotal roles. While the film opened to mixed reviews, it performed better than its predecessor at the Indian box office.
As per the TOI review the critics rate the film 3 stars stating, “The superhero outing has its emotional and funny moments, like the opening scene at a Mexican bar when Eddie whines about the multiverse or Eddie and Venom proving to a young boy aliens are nothing to be scared of. The action and VFX is on-point, as the viewer marvels at the greatly-detailed and monstrous Xenophages, and their ultimate face-off with Venom. While the climactic showdown is the film’s most thrilling action sequence, elevating its tempo and excitement, the overall narrative feels somewhat lacking. Tom Hardy delivers a strong performance as Eddie and Venom, adding depth to their dynamic. However, Andy Serkis’s portrayal of Knull feels underutilized, with his intentions remaining somewhat unclear. Additionally, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Juno Temple’s characters have limited arcs”.
