Varun Dhawan’s upcoming film ‘Baby John’ has generated significant buzz with the release of its taster cut, which some fans believe includes a glimpse of Bollywood superstar Salman Khan. The taster cut for Baby John was unveiled recently, showcasing Varun Dhawan in a raw and intense avatar. This film marks Dhawan’s first major action role and is directed by Kaleeswaran (Kalees).
The teaser has received praise from both fans and celebrities, including Karan Johar and Janhvi Kapoor, who have lauded its high-octane energy. The film is set to release on December 25, 2024, making it a highly anticipated holiday event for moviegoers.
A notable aspect of the teaser is the speculation regarding Salman Khan’s appearance. Reports suggest that he will play a senior police officer in a cameo role. Last month, Mid-Day reported about Salman Khan’s cameo in the film. A source was quoted saying, “Since Salman is known for his action roles and swag, Atlee and Kalees have added some fight sequences featuring the superstar. He will be seen as a swashbuckling cop with some tongue-in-cheek dialogues.”
Now a specific frame in the taster cut shows a back view of a cop, leading many fans to wonder if it could be Khan.
One fan tweeted, “Is this really #SalmanKhan? If yes, then it will be really Fire. #BabyJohn,” while another questioned, “#SalmanKhan Back Shot From #BabyJohn Teaser?” This ambiguity has sparked debates online, with some convinced it is indeed Khan while others believe it to be Varun Dhawan himself.
Baby John is a remake of the 2016 Tamil film ‘Theri’, directed by Atlee. The film features an ensemble cast including Jackie Shroff, Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Rajpal Yadav. It promises to be a masala entertainer filled with action and drama.
Meanwhile, Salman Khan recently did a cameo as Chulbul Pandey Rohit Shetty’s ‘Singham Again’, he will also be seen in ‘Sikandar’, alongside Rashmika Mandanna, directed by A.R. Murugadoss. The film is set to release on Eid 2025.
