Renowned filmmaker Kiran Rao, currently enjoying the success of her ‘Laapataa Ladies‘, has opened up about the prospect of working with her ex-husband, Aamir Khan, again.
At a recent IANS special event, when Kiran Rao was asked about the possibility of working with Aamir Khan again, she responded positively, confirming that they would definitely collaborate in the future.She mentioned that while she wasn’t sure in what capacity, she enjoyed working with him, noting that Aamir had been the producer of Laapataa Ladies and had found the script. Rao added that she was always enthusiastic about teaming up with him again.
When asked about Aamir Khan’s potential role as an actor or producer in their upcoming project, Kiran Rao indicated that she wasn’t certain. She emphasized that her primary focus is on the story, allowing it to develop naturally. She concluded by expressing her hope that they would collaborate again in the future.
Last month, Kiran and ex-husband Aamir Khan, attended a special screening of the film at the Supreme Court of India. The event was organized for judges, their families, and officials, further showcasing the film’s social message.
After winning hearts and critical acclaim, Rao now hopes that her film will be considered as India’s official entry for the 2025 Academy Awards. Sharing her ‘long-cherished dream’ to see her film represent the country at the Oscars, Kiran said to PTI, “My dream would be fulfilled if it was, if it would go (to Oscars). But it’s a process, and I’m hoping it’ll (Laapataa Ladies) be considered. I’m sure the best film will go, whoever they choose in the scheme of things.”
Meanwhile, on the work front, Khan will be next seen in ‘Sitaare Zameen Par‘ alongside Genelia D’Souza and Darsheel Safary.
