The Bollywood superstar recalled warning Junaid that, as an actor, he would inevitably be compared to his father when his first film was released. He emphasized that the label of being ‘Aamir Khan’s son’ would always stick with him, bringing undue pressure.
He admitted that he wasn’t sure if his son was a good actor due to his shyness, which reminded him of his own struggles with the same issue. Aamir revealed that, like others around him, he was unsure of his son’s acting abilities and expressed concern as a father. ‘I was worried as a father,’ Aamir mentioned. He also made it clear to Junaid that if he wasn’t a good actor, there would be nothing he could do to help him.
The ‘PK’ actor told Junaid that he couldn’t produce a film for him just because he was his son, as he wouldn’t want to deceive his audience. Junaid responded that he understood and didn’t expect any special treatment, asking his father to remain true to himself.
After agreeing to Aamir’s conditions, Junaid trained for two years at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Aamir noticed his son’s growth from his first to his last play. Despite facing numerous rejections during auditions, Junaid eventually found success with ‘Maharaj.’
On the work front, Junaid will next be seen in an untitled movie with Sai Pallavi.
