Aasif Sheikh recalls Salman Khan getting pulled over by cop for driving on footpath: 'The traffic police actually did not recognise him'

Aasif Sheikh recently talked about Salman Khan’s adventurous side in his younger days. He shared a story about how Salman was once stopped by a traffic cop for rash driving. Although Salman was confident he could avoid trouble because of his stardom, things didn’t go as expected. Aasif also mentioned his close friendship with Salman, who affectionately calls him ‘Sukhandi’ because of his slim build.
In an interview with The Lallantop, Aasif reminisced about an incident from the time they were filming the 1998 movie Bandhan. He recalled how Salman Khan, driving an Esteem car, asked him to sit beside him while returning from the shoot. Salman confidently drove on both the road and footpath, dismissing Aasif’s concerns about getting caught by reassuring him that being with Salman Khan meant there was no need to worry.

Soon after Salman made his confident remark, a traffic cop stopped them. Aasif humorously remembered how the officer didn’t recognize the superstar at first. Laughing, Aasif recalled Salman jokingly suggesting that maybe if he took off his shirt, the officer might recognize him.

Aasif shared another memory from the shoot of Auzaar in Hyderabad, where a friend of his visited the set with a new car. To prank him, Salman Khan drove the car recklessly, but since the man was in the company of a celebrity, he didn’t complain. After the ride, Salman laughed it off, admitting he was just having some fun.
