Actor Aasif Sheikh, known for his performance in the Hindi sitcom ‘Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hain,’ recently shared insights into his bond with superstar Salman Khan. During a recent chat, he recalled memories from different movie sets they worked on together.
He mentioned that Salman often calls him ‘mariyal’ and ‘sukhandi’ (both meaning frail or skinny). In an interview with Lallantop, Aasif revealed the reason behind these nicknames. He explained that Salman’s family is full of bodybuilders, and whenever Salman refers to someone as thin, he compares them to Aasif. “Whenever he needs to describe someone skinny or weak, he says, ‘Aasif ki tarah mariyal.’ I’ve become the symbol of a skinny man. That’s why he calls me ‘sukhandi,’” Aasif added with a laugh.
Aasif described working with Salman as a fun, party-like experience, calling him a happy-go-lucky and easygoing person. He noted that Salman interacts warmly with everyone and stands in a league of his own. Aasif praised Salman’s authenticity, explaining that while the actor doesn’t shy away from expressing displeasure, he also readily shows appreciation with hugs when someone performs well.Aasif shared a personal moment when, after he signed ‘Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hain’, Salman Khan personally called to congratulate him, expressing how much he enjoyed the show. Salman mentioned watching a few episodes and finding them entertaining. Aasif added that, although he never asks Salman for roles, Salman frequently offers him roles in his films on his own initiative.
