Content creator and Bigg Boss 16 fame Abdu Rozik recently joined hands with acid attack survivor and activist, Laxmi Agarwal, to tackle online trolling. During their meet, they discussed their own experiences with online negativity and shared their thoughts on the importance of spreading kindness. Speaking to ETimes, Abdu shared that social media has the potential to bring people together or spread harm. He believes that promoting respect and kindness is crucial, as every comment made online could affect someone deeply. By teaming up with Laxmi, the Tajikistan singer hopes to remind everyone that there are real people behind the screens who experience emotions.
Abdu shared, “Social media has the power to unite and uplift, but it can also be a source of hurt and negativity. I believe we can change this by spreading respect and kindness, and that’s why I’m standing with Laxmi to promote this important message. Every comment we make online has an impact. It’s essential to remember that behind every screen is a real person with feelings. Let’s use our voices to support and uplift, rather than to harm and demean.”
The Tajikistan singer further added that working with Laxmi Agarwal was “an eye-opening experience” for him. He was truly inspired by her strength and determination. By coming together with Laxmi, Abdu hopes people treat one another with a positive attitude and also believes that everyone deserves to be treated well.
Since Abdu rose to fame in India, he has often faced negativity on social media majorly due to his appearance. Earlier this year, he announced that he was getting married, but he recently revealed that the wedding has been cancelled. In an interview with Hindustan Times, Abdu mentioned that online trolling played a role in their decision to separate.
He said, “One of the hardest parts for her was the relentless trolling we faced after announcing our engagement. It deeply affected her mental health, and as much as I wanted to protect her from it, it became clear that this negativity was eroding our relationship. Currently, we are both trying to give each other space to heal emotionally.”
Meanwhile, Laxmi Agarwal continues to inspire acid attack survivors and her story was so impactful that a movie called Chhapaak was made about her experience, featuring Deepika Padukone.
