Nassar talked about the importance of representation on the IIFA Utsavam Green Carpet.
Actor Nassar was seen in a veshti at the IIFA Utsavam Green Carpet on Friday. The actor revealed why he decided to don his traditional attire.
The 2024 IIFA Awards have kickstarted at the Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. The event opened with a press conference which was followed by a Green Carpet event. At the IIFA Utsavam Green Carpet, actor Nassar was spotted in a black kurta which he had paired with a veshti. The actor revealed why he decided to wear this traditional outfit at the event.
Speaking to News18 at the IIFA Utsavam Green Carpet, actor Nassar revealed why he chose to wear a veshti and represent his cultural roots. The actor mentioned that he had no particular reason in mind to opt for a veshti. He said that he wanted to represent his culture in Abu Dhabi. The actor said, “No, I don’t have a reason. I feel comfortable with it. Moreover, when you are talking on other soil about our soil, it’s nice to be in your own representation. When I see Arabs coming in their own attire, I can come in a veshti.”
For his appearance at the IIFA Utsavam Green Carpet on Friday, Nassar opted for a black kurta that he had worn with a well-pleated veshti and flats. While the actor works predominantly in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam films, he has also acted in Kannada, Hindi, English, and Bengali movies as well. On the work front, the actor was last seen in Kadaisi Ulaga Por. He is currently working on Game Changer where he will share the screen with Ram Charan.
The 2024 IIFA Awards will continue till September 29. Ahead of the prestigious event, many actors were spotted leaving from the Mumbai airport. Reports mention that the event will feature power-packed performances by Vicky Kaushal, Kriti Sanon, Rekha, and others. The event will be hosted by Shah Rukh Khan, Vicky Kaushal, and Karan Johar.
