The singer made the announcement during her concert in Munich on Friday, August 9th, while interacting with fans. The singer dropped the happy news when a fan in the audience proposed to her during the show. Adele responded with a smile, saying, “I can’t marry you, because I’m already getting married. But I appreciate it very, very much.”
Adele and Rich Paul have been linked since early 2021, after she finalised her divorce from her former husband, Simon Konecki.
Adele’s relationship status has been the subject of much speculation, particularly after she referred to Rich, a prominent sports agent, as her “husband” in the past. Rumours of their engagement gained traction a few weeks ago when Adele was spotted wearing a large diamond ring on her left hand. However, it wasn’t until her recent concert that the singer finally addressed the rumours directly.
This engagement comes nearly three years after the singer finalised her $171 million divorce settlement with her ex-husband. Adele and Simon, who began dating in 2011, share a son named Angelo, born in October 2012. The couple tied the knot in a private ceremony in 2016 but announced their separation in April 2019, with Adele filing for divorce later that year.
The multi-Grammy-winning and Oscar-winning singer is currently performing in Munich, where she is scheduled to do 10 shows throughout August. The concerts are taking place at a specially constructed 80,000-seat outdoor arena.
