As political tension in Bangladesh grows, actor Adil Hussain has responded to attacks on religious minorities, particularly Hindus. The ‘English-Vinglish’ actor stated on X that more needs to be done by India to safeguard individuals affected by the protests.
Adil Hussain took to his X and reacted to the “heart-wrenching visuals” from Bangladesh. He wrote, “Heart Wrenching visuals from Bangladesh.The Attacks and Atrocities on Minority communities and on others in Bangladesh are Shocking! India must do more to Protect them (sic).”
He further added, “I stand with the Pains and Sufferings of the Victims. And I urge the Perpetrators to Stand Down. They should hang their Heads In Shame for their Actions. All political leaders, specifically Muslim Leaders of India Must, Must call out these Perpetrators (sic).”
The last few months have seen unrest in Bangladesh, including demonstrations against government employment quotas. Sheikh Hasina was forced to resign as prime minister of Bangladesh due to the violent riots, and she had to flee to India.
But the country’s widespread rioting and looting didn’t end the violence, with reports of attacks on minority populations, primarily Hindu ones.
