‘The Sabarmati Report‘ which is based on the tragic Godhra train burning incident in 2002, has been in the news lately for its content. The film has been garnering more footfalls due to positive word of mouth, more so, after Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the film. The movie was declared tax free in Madhya Pradesh, followed by Chhattisgarh. And now, ‘The Sabarmati Report’ has also been declared tax free in Haryana.
According to reports, Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini watched the film along with his cabinet ministers on Tuesday where Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar was also present. Thus, they’ve now decided to make the movie tax free in Haryana. Producer Ektaa Kapoor was also present at this screening. Saini appreciated the movie and the bravery of the actors in the movie. Thus, he also urged people to watch the film.
Saini further compared the movie to ‘The Kashmir Files‘ and said that it is quite accurate. On February 27, 2002, the Sabarmati Express train was set on fire near Godhra station, killing 59 people, mostly karsevaks, and triggering violent riots across Gujarat.
Meanwhile, the PM had tweeted about the movie and said, “It is good that this truth is coming out, and that too in a way common people can see it. A fake narrative can persist only for a limited period of time. Eventually, the facts will always come out!”
The film stars Vikrant Massey, Raashii Khanna, Riddhi Dogra.
