Ajay Devgn kicked off the year with Shaitaan, the highest-grossing horror film at Rs 148 crore. Despite setbacks with Maidaan and Auron Mein Kaha Dum Tha, Singham Again soared, crossing Rs 200 crore in 10 days, even amidst a Diwali clash with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. And it has now become the the third biggest hit of the year behind only Shraddha Kapoor’s Stree 2, and Prabhas’ Kalki 2898 AD.

Singham Again minted Rs 173 crore in its first week and over the next five days, it added another Rs 41.5 crore and took its total to Rs 214.50 crore, thus beating Fighter starring Hrithik Roshan’s lifetime collection of Rs 212.73 crore. With no big release coming up for the entire month of November, Singham Again can easily add 30-40 more crore to its kitty. But the film is witnessing a slump in its ticket sales with each passing day in the second week, while its competition Kartik Aaryan and Vidya Balan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is also witnessing a slump, but at a much lesser pace. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 has currently minted 208.25 crore, and has closed down the gap with Rohit Shetty’s directorial to Rs 6.25 crore from Rs 7 crore few days ago.
Coming back to Singham Again, the film will be facing an uphill battle to become the second biggest hit of the year, as that spot has been taken by Prabhas’ Kalki 2898 AD which minted over Rs 293 in Hindi and across languages, the film crossed over Rs 645 crore. However, the biggest hit of the year still remains Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s Stree with Rs 597.99 crore collection.
