Joining Indians in celebrating the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Bollywood star Alia Bhatt has joined Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Mission, a nationwide campaign aimed at promoting cleanliness and sanitation.
On Wednesday, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, put out a video of the actress in her traditional best avatar, voicing her support for the mission and encouraging the youth of the country and fans to “make our country even more beautiful.”
In a video, Alia sai, “”The Swachh Bharat Mission spearheaded by our honourable Prime Minister, marks a significant step towards realising Gandhi Ji’s dream of a clean and self-reliant India.Let’s all come together and take this mission to new heights and make our country even more beautiful.”
This is not the first time Alia has supported the initiative. Back in 2017, she and fellow actor Varun Dhawan participated in the Clean India Movement, where they encouraged fellow citizens to contribute in keeping the country clean.
Alia’s involvement in the campaign comes as she gets ready for the release of her next film, ‘Jigra’, which is slated to hit screens next week. Directed by Vasan Bala, the film also stars Vedang Raina in a supporting role.
Meanwhile, the actress is also working on the YRF spy film ‘Alpha’, where she will join the ranks of Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Salman Khan as the lead actors in the spy franchise. The film which went on floors early this year, is reportedly eyeing a 2025 release. She will then move on to reunite with Sanjay Leela Bhansali for the romantic film ‘Love and War’ that will see her starring opposite Vicky Kaushal and her husband, actor Ranbir Kapoor.
