Alia Bhatt is a bonafide superstar of the current generation, she has cemented his position not only as a star, but also as an actor with films like Raazi, Gangubai Kathiawadi , Dear Zindagi, Udta Punjab and many more. Recently, Alia backed Vasan Bala’s Jigra but the film failed to find a connection with the audience.

The film took a slow start on the weekend, with a single spike only on Saturday, but since then, the collections have been dipping on a daily basis. Thus, week 1 collection of the film stood at Rs 22.45 crore. And with this, the film just managed to not become Alia’s lowest week 1 collection. That spot will be retained by Imtiaz Ali’s Highway which had minted Rs 22.39 crore and the difference between the two films is just Rs 6 lakh. Though for a film like Highway which was made on a budget of Rs 25 crore, a box office collection of Rs 22.39 crore in week 1 and overall collection of Rs 30.65 crore nett is a decent performance, whereas Jigra has been pegged at a budget of Rs 80 crore.
Alia plays the role of Satya who is all set to free her brother Ankur played by Vedang Raina, who was falsely convicted for drug trafficking. The film clashed with Rajkummar Rao’s Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video which went on to collect Rs 26.95 crore in week 1.
Alia will be next seen in Aditya Chopra and Shiv Rawail’s Alpha slated to release during Christmas of 2025, and she also has signed Love And War with Sanjay Leela Bhansali which also stars Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.
