The success of the ‘Baahubali’ series, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, and ‘Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire’ underscores the growing prominence of Telugu cinema in the vast U.S. market, further buoyed by Telugu’s position as the 11th most spoken language in the country. With Pushpa 2: The Rule, starring Allu Arjun, set to release on December 5, anticipation is at an all-time high. Even with 18 days remaining before its debut, the film has already ignited the advance box office, signaling its potential to further expand Telugu cinema’s global reach.

‘Pushpa 2- The Rule’, is a sequel to the superhit hit film ‘Pushpa- The Rise’, which released in 2021 and won Allu Arjun the Best Actor National Award. For its premiere shows in the United States of America, the film has already sold tickets worth over US $ 873,000 ( Rs 7.36crore) from over 830 locations, and having sold over 31000 tickets.
On close inspection the advance booking for the film began with much fanfare but over the past few days, it has lost steam. All eyes are now on the trailer launch on Sunday to give a major spike to the collection. The film is expected to give a competition to the year’s biggest premiere show’s record held by Prabhas’ Kalki 2898 AD with over US $ 3.9 million collection.The all-time highest premiere show record is held by SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2 with US $ 4.3 million.
The film is also carrying a lot of expectations on its shoulders, as distributor Anil Thadani has paid almost Rs 200 crore for its North India distribution rights. The first installment has made Rs 106 crore from its Hindi version, while its India collection stood at Rs 267 crore.
Pushpa 2 also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil , Jagapathi Babu and Prakash Raj. The film will be clashing with Vicky Kaushal, Laxman Utekar and Dinesh Vijan’s Chaava on 6th December.
