Ananya Panday and Karan Johar dropped a new teaser for the upcoming series ‘Call Me Bae‘. In a quirky and colourful new clip, the director and actress duo dropped hints about the new show that has had fans buzzing since it was first announced last year.
In the clip, Karan reveals that the actress will take on a role she has never played before – a rich girl from South Delhi.When Ananya protests that she always plays a “bougie princess,” KJo then goes on to reveal, “You’re a rich girl that loses everything. You have to go to Mumbai and have to struggle for everything… like a regular person. Will you find a new job? Will you find new friends? And most importantly, will you find an auto that will accept UPI?”
The clip ends with visuals from the upcoming series that give us a look at Ananya’s character living the glam life and also her struggle working as part of the cleaning crew.

Karan’s description of the new show, coupled with the hilarious visuals, has left fans excited and full of questions—particularly about its potential inspiration from the popular American sitcom ‘2 Broke Girls’. “Inspired by 2 broke girls?” a fan asked in the comments, while another seemed convinced and said, “It’s Caroline from 2 broke girls.”
“If she is playing Caroline from 2 broke girls then I really want to know who is playing the badass Max?” another asked.

‘2 Broke Girls’, the hit sitcom aired from 2011 to 2017 and followed the lives of two young women, Max Black and Caroline Channing, who come from very different backgrounds but end up working together in a Brooklyn diner.
Max, played by Kat Dennings, is a street-smart, sarcastic woman who has always struggled financially. Caroline, portrayed by Beth Behrs, is a formerly wealthy socialite who loses her fortune after her father is imprisoned for embezzlement. Despite their differences, the two quickly become friends and decide to team up to pursue their dream of starting a cupcake business.

‘Call Me Bae’ is set to premiere later this year, and marks Ananya’s first web series appearance. She was last seen in the OTT film ‘Kho Gaye Hum Kahan’.
