Angad shared the touching moment when his father, who rarely gave compliments, hugged him and said, “Not bad, son,” after watching the movie.
The actor further discussed his decision to cut his hair, despite being Sikh, due to industry advice that his long hair wouldn’t suit movies. He shared that this decision upset his father for 20 years until the release of ‘Pink’. After the film’s success, his father finally accepted the change, telling Angad, “Now you justify your haircut to me,” and hugged him.
He had his haircut at the age of 18 or 19, and his father only began speaking to him again when he was 33. His father, deeply hurt by the decision, advised Angad to choose his future films wisely.
Angad Bedi shared the screen with Salman Khan in ‘Tiger Zinda Hai‘ and Alia Bhatt in ‘Dear Zindagi’. He was also seen in the Janhvi Kapoor-starrer ‘Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl’.
Angad’s father, Bishan Singh Bedi, breathed his last on October 23, 2023, after a prolonged illness.
