Hollywood’s biggest stars gathered in Los Angeles on Sunday night for the annual Governors Awards, however, it was Angelina Jolie and son Knox Jolie-Pitt who stole all the attention.
The mother-son duo made a rare public appearance on Sunday night with the young hunk suiting up in a tux to be his mom’s plus-one for the big night. While Knox looked sharp for the evening, Angelina stunned in a vintage golden gown and wore her hair down in waves.
Their red carpet appearance quickly became the talk of social media, especially because fans found themselves squinting to spot the difference between Knox and his elder sister Shiloh.
The 15-year-old, youngest son of actors Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, drew attention for his striking resemblance to his older sister, Shiloh. Fans were quick to point out the similarities between the siblings, with one commenting, “Knox looks just like Shiloh”
Another wrote, “You guys. Angelina and Brad have a son named Knox. It is NOT Shiloh.”
Another commented, “That’s the first time I see him. He looks just like her. Adorable.”
There were others who thought the handsome teen looked like Angelina’s brother, James Haven. “He looks just like Her Brother!! Uncanny! So Handsome!!.”
“The young version of Angelina’s brother,” said another.
Angelina, over the past months, has been seen making appearances with her kids as her date. She has been seen walking red carpets with her daughters Shiloh, Zahara and Vivienne. She most recently also made an appearance with Pax following his e-bike accident.
Sinday’s event, put on by the film academy’s board of governors, honoured the late Quincy Jones, James Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, filmmaker Richard Curtis and casting director Juliet Taylor. It also served as a de-facto campaign stop for Oscar hopefuls as awards season gets underway.
The Governors Awards are often an emotional affair. With no television cameras or band there to play you off during a speech, it’s a night where friends and colleagues get to pay tribute to that year’s honorary Oscar recipients, many of whom are later in life.
