Archana Puran Singh, known for her infectious laughter has been a prominent figure in the Indian entertainment industry for decades. With a career spanning films, television, and theater, she has proven her versatility time and again.
In a recent interview with News18, Archana revealed that she had to turn down numerous film offers due to her commitment to The Kapil Sharma Show. The show’s demanding schedule, which required her to shoot multiple episodes per week, left her with little time to pursue other projects.“When we were on television, we didn’t get any breaks. We had fun doing episodes over and over, and we got a lot of riyaaz (practice). The entire team was always energised, but I had to turn down a lot of film offers. Now, I’m thrilled that I have the time to accept films,”
The ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ actress also revealed, “Vashu ji and many other producers and directors had offered me projects. Nowadays, films are shot more overseas than in India, so there was always a balance to strike.” Archana explained that the decision to reject film offers was not an easy one, as some of the projects were being shot overseas in locations like Scotland, Mauritius, and Australia.
Despite the challenges, Archana remained dedicated to The Kapil Sharma Show, recognizing the joy and fulfillment it brought her. “No regrets at all. I thoroughly enjoyed that journey, and I’m equally enjoying this new chapter,” she said.
Now that ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ has shifted to OTT and is broken into seasons, Archana finally has the flexibility to explore film opportunities again. This led her to sign ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video‘, a film she will be starring in alongside Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri. Archana expressed her excitement about this new chapter, stating, “Now, I’m thrilled that I have the time to accept films.”
Throughout her career, Archana has demonstrated her versatility by seamlessly transitioning between different roles and mediums. As Archana embarks on this new phase of her career, her fans eagerly await the opportunity to see her showcase her talent in ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video’ and other upcoming projects.
