Arjun Kapoor, who was last seen in Rohit Shetty’s ‘Singham Again‘, received a lot of positive reviews for his villain role in the movie. The actor shared his long journey to being recognized as a good actor after enduring a long-standing online troll in his recent social media post. In a recent interview, Arjun spoke about how he stopped enjoying films during a tough time in his career.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Arjun added that his passion for movies, which once fueled his life, began to wane. He describes a period where watching films became a source of insecurity rather than enjoyment, as he questioned whether he’d ever get the same opportunities as others. “Suddenly, I’d watch other people’s work and feel, ‘Will I be able to? Will I get a chance to?’ And I’ve never been a bitter, negative person, but that started festering inside me in a very off way,” the actor shared.

This shift in mindset led him to become negative and disconnected from his true passion. He admits to losing his enthusiasm, even resorting to watching YouTube Shorts just to pass the time. He emphasizes that the only way to excel in the industry is to “watch, interact, be open, and be malleable.”
The ‘2 States’ actor further shared his experience of working on his “massiest” movie, ‘Singham Again’, while feeling disconnected from his love for cinema. The actor signed the film at his lowest, and after completing the film in May, he began rediscovering his passion for movies and shows. “I started engaging with movies again, I started engaging with shows again, and I started engaging with myself again to be very happy. I was finding it very difficult to be happy,” he shared.
It helped him reconnect with his own happiness. He found joy in revisiting long-awaited content like ‘Only Murders in the Building’ and watched ‘Mad Max: Furiosa’ alone abroad, which reignited his initial love for films.
Arjun Kapoor played a ruthless villain, Danger Lanka, in the Ajay Devgn-starrer ‘Singham Again’. The movie also featured Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Tiger Shroff, Jackie Shroff, Akshay Kumar, Ravi Kishan, and Shweta Tiwari in key roles.
