Arjun Rampal and Gabriella Demetriades have been going strong since 2019 and the couple even expanded their family by welcoming their two sons, Arik and Arav. However, the couple seems to be in no rush to wed. When questioned about their decision to stay unmarried, Arjun responded with a thought-provoking question: “What is marriage?”
Rampal elaborated on his views about marriage during an interview on the BeerBiceps podcast.He said that marriage to them was just a ‘piece of paper’. Sharing his reason not to settle down, he added, “It’s not me, it’s not her. What is marriage? A piece of paper after all. I think we are already married and there is not doubt in my mind about that. But, sometimes what that piece of paper can also do is change you. Because its like you think it’s permanent, its a false notion in fact but you are just legally bound”.
The actor also noted that marriage can alter how people’s perspective of each other and described his relationship with Gabriella as ‘organic’. “Whatever has happened between us was very organic. I don’t want to speak much about it because I don’t want to jinx it. I don’t think I need to justify this to anybody. For us, this is beautiful. You should keep experiencing it for as long as you can. In both our minds, we are married to each other. We are both pushing each other in the right direction and at the same time, we are boyfriend-girlfriend”, laughed Arjun.
However, the actor did clarify that he is not opposed to the institution of marriage and nor advise others against it. He then went on to share, “Maybe we will get married. You never know. I have two beautiful boys. I am blessed. My daughters (from first marriage) and her get along beautifully. Mehr and her get along well.”
Arjun was previously married to Mehr Jesia, with whom he shares two daughters, Mahikaa and Myra.
On the work front, the actor is working on his next film that will see him starring opposite Ranveer Singh.
