Arshad Warsi reveals he requested 'Jaani Dushman' director to kill him first in the movie; recalls Akshay Kumar willing to do everybody's role: 'The film is unbelievable'

Arshad Warsi recently reflected on his role in the 2002 film Jaani Dushman, which was a major box office failure but has since gained a reputation for being a “cringe watch.” Despite its poor reception, the film has gained a cult following over the years for its over-the-top moments and unintentional humour.
In an interview with Mashable India, Arshad fondly remembered Jaani Dushman, calling it a “cult movie” despite its box office failure. He laughed about his death scene in the film, where he was excited to be the first character to die. He even joked about requesting the director to kill him off first, adding a humorous twist to his experience on set.

Warsi, who will appear in Jolly LLB 3 with Akshay Kumar, shared a funny moment from Jaani Dushman. He recalled how Akshay was eager to take on multiple roles in the film, joking that he would play the reincarnation of any character who died. This playful attitude added to the lighthearted atmosphere on set.

Arshad laughed about the outrageousness of Jaani Dushman, where Akshay Kumar’s character could transform and take on the role of anyone who died. Arshad highlighted how the film featured many unbelievable moments, calling it a cult classic for its absurdities and unique storyline. The film’s over-the-top nature makes it unforgettable.
In an earlier interview with Pinkvilla, Akshay had revealed that his character was originally scripted to die in Jaani Dushman. However, due to scheduling conflicts with another actor (believed to be Sunny Deol), Akshay suggested a change, and his character was written into a coma instead. This allowed him to return later in the film.
Jaani Dushman featured scenes inspired by The Terminator and The Matrix, with cutting-edge special effects that generated significant pre-release hype. Despite the excitement, the film failed to meet expectations. Directed by Rajkumar Kohli, known for films like Nagin (1976) and Bees Saal Baad (1989), it struggled to make an impact at the box office.
