The highly anticipated Kannada action thriller film ‘Bagheera‘, starring Sriimurali, was released in theatres on October 31, 2024. Directed by Dr. Suri and written by Prashanth Neel, known for his work on blockbusters like ‘KGF’ and ‘Salaar’, the film had a slow start at the box office.
Bagheera Movie Review
On its opening day, the film earned approximately Rs 2.80 crores, which was relatively low given the hype surrounding it. The first three days saw a gradual increase in collections, with Rs 3.30 crore on day 2, and Rs 3.50 crore on day 3 leading to the film making an estimated Rs 3.15 crore on day 4 bringing the total to Rs 13 crore.
The film’s overall occupancy rate in Kannada theatres was around 58.37% on Sunday, November 3, with Morning Shows at 24.83%, Afternoon Shows at 71.60%, Evening Shows at 72.49% and Night Shows at 64.55% indicating that while interest is growing, it still needs a substantial boost to recover its production budget and reach profitability.

The plot of ‘Bagheera’ revolves around a dedicated police officer who transforms into a vigilante at night to confront crime and injustice in society. This duality has drawn comparisons to popular superhero narratives, with fans calling Sriimurali as the “Indian Batman.” The film also features Rukmini Vasanth, Prakash Raj, and Sudha Rani in key roles.
Despite facing tough competition from other Diwali releases such as the Tamil film ‘Amaran’ and various Telugu films like ‘Lucky Bhaskar’ and ‘Ka’, ‘Bagheera’ managed to maintain a steady audience presence.
