The makers of Bigg Boss Kannada Season 11 have recently come under scrutiny following a police notice regarding alleged violations of privacy for female contestants. The Kumbalgodu Police issued the notice on October 14 after the Karnataka State Commission for Women raised concerns about a controversial task featured in the show.
The issue centers around the “Heaven and Hell” task, which was aired in a recent episode hosted by Kiccha Sudeep.In this task, contestants were divided into two groups, with some placed in a prison-like setting. The Women’s Commission filed a complaint highlighting potential privacy violations in a multi-camera environment, particularly concerning the treatment of female contestants as per an India Today report. They also raised alarms about inadequate facilities in these rooms, including poor sanitation and lack of proper food.
The Commission argued that the conditions faced by the female contestants could be seen as a violation of their dignity and privacy. Nagalakshmi Chaudhary, Chairperson of the Karnataka Women’s Commission, assured that a thorough investigation would be conducted into the matter.
In response to the complaint, Kumbalgodu Police have requested the show’s organizers to appear for an inquiry. They have also demanded unedited raw footage and audio from the episode featuring the controversial task. The police warned that failure to cooperate could lead to serious legal consequences.
As part of their investigation, police have recorded statements from five female contestants who participated in the “Hell” side of the task. According to reports, these contestants denied any claims of human rights violations, stating that they were not forced into any situation without their consent.
