For many women in the US, Donald Trump’s re-election as president feels like a frightening reality, and celebrities are no exception. Billie Eilish, a strong supporter of Kamala Harris, was visibly emotional during her concert, struggling to process Trump’s victory in the 2024 elections.
On November 6, Eilish performed at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, just as the election results were being announced.
During the show, Billie Eilish paused to speak to her Tennessee audience and became emotional, even breaking down in tears at one point.
“Waking up this morning, I kinda couldn’t fathom doing a show on this day. But.. the longer the day went on I kinda had this feeling of it’s such a privilege I get to do this with you guys and that we have this in a time that…” I just love you so much and I want you to know that you’re safe with me and you’re protected here and you’re safe in this room,” she told her fans.
After her performance, as fans gave her a heartfelt response, Billie Eilish became overwhelmed and struggled to hold back tears. Another added, “The pain on her face literally same can’t wait to see her this weekend though.”
Before the concert, Billie Eilish shared her thoughts on Instagram Stories, writing, “It’s a war on women,” in reference to Trump’s past stance on reproductive rights in the U.S. Earlier, she had also endorsed Kamala Harris in an Instagram post, urging her fans to vote for the Democratic nominee.
Along with Billie Eilish, several other celebrities, including Cardi B, Ariana Grande, and Jamie Lee Curtis, also voiced their disappointment and concern over Trump’s victory.
