Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt‘s daughter, Shiloh, has officially dropped her father’s surname, choosing to go by ‘Shiloh Jolie‘.
The 18-year-old’s name change was granted by the court, as reported by TMZ. According to the court documents, Shiloh, who was previously known as Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt, has removed “Pitt” from her full name, retaining only her mother’s surname.The petition for the name change was granted without the need for a formal hearing.
Shiloh’s decision to change her name came shortly after she turned 18 in May, with the request being filed just three days after her birthday. This legal move has sparked speculation about the current state of Shiloh’s relationship with her father, who has been reportedly estranged from his six children since his contentious split from Jolie in 2016.The Jolie-Pitt divorce has been ongoing for nearly eight years, with a lengthy court battle.
Shiloh isn’t the only child to distance herself from Pitt in recent months. Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt, who was adopted by Angelina in 2005 and later by Brad in 2006, also appeared to drop “Pitt” from her name during a sorority event in November, at least informally. Additionally, Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, who was born in 2008 alongside her twin brother Knox, recently used the name Vivienne Jolie in the Playbill for the Broadway production of “The Outsiders,” where she worked as a production assistant.
