On Instagram, Cardi B did not directly comment on the news of her divorce, but posted a photo of her on a rooftop, holding her stomach to reveal a baby bump.
“With every ending comes a new beginning! I am so grateful to have shared this season with you, you have brought me more love, more life and most of all renewed my power,” she wrote in the caption. “It’s so much easier taking life’s twists, turns and test laying down, but you, your brother and your sister have shown me why it’s worth it to push through!”
According to sources, Cardi submitted the necessary paperwork on Wednesday, marking her second attempt at divorce after initially filing four years ago. Reports indicate that she has hired a divorce lawyer and is seeking primary custody of their children.
An insider revealed to PageSix that the decision was not influenced by recent rumors of Offset’s infidelity but rather by the couple growing apart. “They’ve grown apart. That’s what drove her to this decision more than anything else,” the source shared. “This is something she wants to do.”
Sources also told TMZ that the divorce has been “a long time coming,” suggesting that Cardi and Offset have been disconnected for some time. They emphasized that the decision was not made overnight, though neither Cardi nor Offset have officially confirmed or denied the reports.
Speculation about their relationship has been rampant in recent months. At the end of last year, Cardi hinted at her single status during an Instagram live session, saying, “I don’t know if you guys have been getting clues from me from my [Instagram] Lives or from my Stories when I put on certain music. Cardi B and Offset, whose birth names are Belcalis Almanzar and Kiari Cephus respectively, have two children together: 5-year-old daughter Kulture and 2-year-old son Wave.
