Now, in a recent interview with Mid-day, Matilda reflected on her first encounter with Priyanka during the London premiere of ‘Citadel’.She stated, “I was over for the London premiere of Citadel and watched Priyanka Chopra for the first time.”
Priyanka had shared joyful moments with Matilda and Samantha Ruth Prabhu as the trio posed for pictures, laughing and enjoying each other’s company.
At that point, Matilda had already completed filming for her own show, which left her feeling inspired yet challenged. She admitted, “So, I couldn’t take anything from Priyanka’s performance in Citadel [into mine]. But I just thought to myself—please, let me be, at least, as good as her!” This sentiment highlights Matilda’s admiration for Priyanka’s talent and her determination to match it.
In a conversation with News18, Matilda had remarked, “When we were at the premiere in London, I remember watching Citadel and thinking to myself, ‘Wow, she’s so good! So incredibly good!’ She’s so stunning and beautiful.” This admiration drove Matilda to train rigorously to elevate her own performance to meet the high standards set by Priyanka.
‘Citadel: Diana’ premiered on October 10, 2024, while the Indian adaptation titled ‘Citadel: Honey Bunny‘ is set to release in November. Meanwhile, filming for the second season of the original ‘Citadel’ is currently underway in London, featuring Priyanka in her role as Nadia Sinh.
A few weeks ago, a leaked video from the set generated buzz among fans, showcasing Priyanka’s character in an intense scene with Stanley Tucci’s character, Bernard Orlick. The footage hinted at a compelling dynamic between the two characters as fans eagerly await for new season of ‘Citadel.’
