Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman starrer Deadpool & Wolverine became the 10th highest grossing Hollywood movie in India over the weekend, but on Monday, the film faced its biggest crash ever.
Deadpool & Wolverine earned Rs 89.9 crore over its first week. On Friday, it earned Rs 4.25 crore, Saturday it minted Rs 7.25 crore and on Sunday, the collections reached Rs 8 crore.And on Monday, the numbers dropped to just Rs 1.97 crore, as per early estimates by Sacnilk, thus taking the overall collection of the film to Rs 111.37 crore.
The film requires a little more than Rs 8 crore more to beat the collection of Tom Cruise’s Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part 1 which collected Rs 119.53 and claim the 9th spot of highest grossing Hollywood film in India. The film has a clean run for the next 9 days, as no big release is taking place till the 15th of August.
On the 15th, three major films are set to clash at the box office: “Stree 2,” starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao; “Vedaa,” featuring John Abraham and Sharvari; and “Khel Khel Mein,” with Akshay Kumar and Fardeen Khan. With these films clashing, there is going to be a very little chance for any other film.
Across the globe, the film has grossed more than US $ 824 million, beating the collection of both Deadpool films which earned US $ 783 million and Us $ 786 million as per Variety.
