The Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman starrer “Deadpool & Wolverine” has gone on to achieve what very few Hollywood films have been able to do in India. The film has joined the elusive Rs 100 crore Bollywood club in the country, becoming only the 15th film to do so. The film had minted nearly Rs 90 crore in its first week, and with the weekend, the Rs 100 crore mark was just a formality, and that was cleared off on Saturday.
The film on Friday, earned Rs 4.25 crore, which was a near 20% drop from Thursday where it minted Rs 5.25 crore. But on Saturday, the film leaped to Rs 7.25 crore collection, as per early estimates by Sacnilk, thus crossing the Rs 100 crore mark. The film’s total collection is Rs 101. 40 crore, replacing Jurassic World on 14th position, which had minted just Rs 101 crore. Given that no big film is releasing till the 15th August, it would be interesting to see how far the superhero film goes at the ticket window. On 15th, three big films are clashing at the Box Office. These include Stree 2 with Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, Vedaa with John Abraham and Sharvari and Khel Khel Mein with Akshay Kumar and Fardeen Khan.
Across the globe the film is expected to cross US $ 820 million mark by Sunday, making it the second biggest film of the year after Pixar’s Inside Out 2.
