Jr NTR starrer ‘Devara‘ directed by Koratala Siva has been one of the highly anticipated films. The movie was released last Friday, September 27th and raked up a massive sum in the opening weekend but took a slight dip as the film progressed towards the weekdays.
On the 5th day of its release, the early estimates suggest that the movie made Rs 13.50 crore according to a report by the trade analyst Sacnilk.This brings its total domestic collection to approximately Rs 186.85 crore.
The movie earned Rs 82.5 crore on its opening day, followed by Rs 38.2 crore on Saturday and a slight recovery to Rs 39.9 crore on Sunday. However, earnings dipped to Rs 12.75 crore on Monday and now had a steady earning of Rs 13.50 crore on Tuesday.
The film’s overall occupancy rates on Tuesday were decent, with Telugu screenings at 27.96%, Hindi at 14.52%, Kannada at 19.05%, and Tamil at 18.49%.
The movie has minted over Rs 300 crore globally, especially in the USA where the film is receiving enormous love.
Despite the drop in collections on Monday, where the film experienced a significant decline of over 50% from its opening day, it managed to maintain a solid performance through the week.
Fans have been with the dual performance of Jr NTR as Devara and Vardha. The movie also features Bollywood’s Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan in the lead. Saif Ali Khan plays the primary antagonist in the film Bhaira and Janhvi Kapoor as a village belle named Thangam opposite Jr NTR.
The plot of the film revolves around coastal islands where fans experience an intense and dark confrontation between Jr NTR and Saif Ali Khan’s characters over illegal smuggling activities through the sea.
