Jr NTR’s latest release Devara is turning out to be a major money spinner not only in India but also in North America, which is the biggest market for Telugu films outside of India. The film in its first six days has already crossed Rs 200 crore mark in India and now with just its weekend collection of US $ 5 million in North America, it has able to beat legendary director Francis Ford Coppola’s big budget film Megalopolis which earned only US $ 4 million.

Devara had an amazing start in North America with just the premiere shows pulling in US $ 2.85 million and over the next 5 days the film added another US $ 2.4 million to its kitty. On the sixth day the film minted over US $ 100,670, thus taking the overall collection of the film to US $ 5.44 million ( Rs 45. 73 crore). The breakeven point for the film has been pegged at US $ 5.5 million and it would be able to cross the that mark very soon. With Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan releasing only next week, Devara had a very good chance to mint extra dollars at the North American circuit. The film has already become the highest grossing solo Jr NTR film.

Jr NTR will now be seen sharing screen space with Hrithik Roshan and Kiara Advani in Aditya Chopra- Ayan Mukerji’s War 2. The film is a sequel to 2019 superhit film War and is part of YRF Spy Universe which already has characters like Tiger, Zoya, Pathaan and Rubai in Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone respectively.
