South Superstar Dhanush’s return to the director’s chair after a gap of seven years, is turning out to be a decent venture for the actor. The film has earned nearly Rs 54 crore in just four days in India, with Rs 42.65 crore coming in the first three days, and remaining in the next two. Also, going by the numbers, the film is also expected to earn a good amount in the remaining three days of the week.
The film is also doing well in North America, where it is released in limited shows. With its premiere shows, the film has already minted Rs 50 lakh and over the next 4 days, it has jumped to US $ 495832 ( Rs 4.15 crore). On the fourth day, the film had added US $ 40849 from 118 locations.
Dhanush has both directed and written ‘Raayan,’ which is his 50th film. The thriller follows Raayan‘s quest for revenge against the gangs that destroyed his family. The film features a notable cast, including S. J. Suryah, Prakash Raj, Sudeep Kishan, Kalidas Jayaram, and Dushara Vijayan.
Dhanush is currently in a middle of controversy, with the Tamil Film Producers Council . They have raised concerns about Dhanush, following claims by Sri Thenandal Films, that he took an advance but did not appear for a shoot. The council now advises filmmakers to consult them before casting Dhanush.
His next film could be director Sekhar Kammula’s Kubera which also features a guest cameo by Superstar Nagarjuna, who has allotted more than a month for the shoot.
