According to recent reports by Pinkvilla, SS Rajamouli has acquired the rights to two of African-British novelist Wilbur Smith’s best-selling adventure novels, “Triumph of the Sun” and “King of Kings.” While the filmmakers have not officially confirmed this, these novels, set in Sudan, Africa, offer a rich backdrop for Rajamouli’s ambitious vision.The stories feature adventurous journeys through African regions, expected to provide some material for the film’s story.
Earlier, Vijayendra Prasad, Rajamouli’s father and the screenwriter of the project, indicated that the script was already complete. The film will follow an Indiana Jones-style adventure template, suggesting that Rajamouli may have bought the rights to these novels primarily for visual reference rather than storyline inspiration.
Mahesh Babu’s character in the film is reportedly inspired by Lord Hanuman, the revered Hindu deity known for his strength and bravery. Mahesh Babu is undergoing rigorous physical training, preparing to bring a powerful character to life on screen.
The film’s plot remains tightly under wraps, but the combination of Rajamouli’s directorial prowess and Mahesh Babu’s star power has already set high expectations. Reports suggest that ‘SSMB29’ is slated for release in 2027.
