The actor was asked to leave the show by producer Rajan Shahi due to his unprofessional behaviour.
Shehzada Dhami has recently grabbed headlines due to his ongoing conflict with Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’s producer, Rajan Shahi. The actor, known for his portrayal of Armaan, was reportedly asked to exit the show alongside Pratiska Honmukhe due to alleged unprofessional behaviour. While Rajan Shahi has openly shared his stance on the issue, Shehzada and Pratiksha have remained silent. But, at a media interaction during Arti Singh’s wedding, Shehzada subtly aimed a jab at the producer, adding fuel to the ongoing controversy.
Dressed in a white sherwani, Shehzada Dhami refrained from delving into the specifics of his departure from the long-running show but didn’t shy away from expressing his stance indirectly. In his brief interaction with the paparazzi, he expressed his belief that, for an actor, the most significant aspects of their career are the media and the fans. He further emphasised that other concerns don’t bother him.
Shahzada Dhami’s remarks come in the wake of Rajan Shahi’s recent revelations regarding the actor’s exit from Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. During an interview with Telly Talk, Rajan Shahi disclosed that Dhami’s behaviour on set had become increasingly problematic, characterised by tantrums and unreasonable demands. He further mentioned that despite numerous discussions with the actor, there was no improvement in the situation. The producer also highlighted that Shehzada Dhami’s performance did not meet expectations. Also, he revealed that Shehzada Dhami exhibited a diva-like attitude and wanted to be addressed as “Sir” which led to delays in the shoot.
Following Shehzada Dhami’s exit from the show, the role of Armaan Poddar in the serial has been assumed by Rohit Purohit, while Pratiksha Honmukhe was replaced by Garvita Sadhwani.
Shehzada Dhami started his television journey in 2020 with the StarPlus fantasy drama series Yehh Jadu Hai Jinn Ka, where he portrayed the character Rehan Khan. Then in 2021, he took on the role of Param in Colors TV’s Choti Sarrdaarni after its generation leap. However, he later parted ways with the series. His most recent appearance was as Armaan Poddar in StarPlus’s Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.
Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is one of the oldest-running shows on Indian TV. It started back in 2009 with Hina Khan and Karan Mehra as the lead actors.
