Jennifer Lopez’s past romance with Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is back in the news after Elon Musk recently questioned her silence on the sexual assault allegations made against the musician.
In a podcast with Joe Rogan, Musk called out the singer’s speech at Kamala Harris’ recent rally, saying, “She’s like warning people against Trump. How many people did she warn against Diddy, right? Oh zero, ok. Maybe we shouldn’t trust her.”
JLo and Diddy dated from 1999 to 2001 during which, they made headlines for their glamorous appearances, scandals, and eventually, legal troubles. But, did you know that the two were once arrested?According to reports, the couple were partying at a club in Manhattan, back in 1999, when a fight broke out, leading to gunshots being fired, leaving three bystanders injured. Both Combs and JLo fled the scene but were caught after skipping a red light. On inspection, the cops discovered a gun in the vehicle, which led to both Combs and Lopez being taken into custody.
As per New York Post, Lopez was reportedly handcuffed to a pole in the station and spent 14 hours in detention before she was cleared of any charges and released. Combs, however, faced more serious legal challenges as he was indicted on charges of criminal possession of an unregistered firearm and attempted bribery, allegedly offering his bodyguard money to claim ownership of the weapon.
After a lengthy legal battle, Combs was acquitted of all charges.
After nearly two years of dating, the couple called it quits on their romance. In a 2003 interview with Vibe, Lopez admitted that Combs had been unfaithful, which had a lasting impact on her emotionally.
