‘Stree 2,’ the sequel to the 2018 movie Stree, is making waves at the box office. Starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, the film has received glowing reviews from audiences. Shraddha’s entry scene, in particular, has been a big hit with viewers, however, fans have complained about the star’s limited screen time.
Director Amar Kaushik in his recent interview, explained that the decision to limit her screen time was intentional to make her entry more impactful.Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, Kaushik revealed that he has received complaints about Kapoor’s screen time in the film and said, “Some people even complained that Shraddha Kapoor’s screen time is less. Lekin agar Shraddha zyada dikhti, toh jis tarah ki entry ki usne, uska impact nahin hota.”
Discussing the screen time of other actors, such as Aparshakti Khurana, he highlighted the significance of the script. He stated that the screen presence of each character is guided by the needs of the story to ensure that the narrative remains compelling and effective. He said, “We write what is required,” and shared that they didn’t consider whether an actor might feel bad about the length of their role. The focus was solely on what the story needed.
In the horror-comedy, Shraddha and Rajkummar return to their iconic roles. Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee, and Pankaj Tripathi also reprise their characters, earning praise for their witty punchlines. The film, directed by Amar Kaushik and written by Niren Bhatt, is produced by Dinesh Vijan and Jyoti Deshpande.
The story of the movie takes viewers back to the town of Chanderi, now haunted by a new monster named Sarkata. Rajkummar’s character, Vicky, and his friends must once again step up to save the town. Shraddha’s character reappears to assist them, and the movie also unveils the mystery surrounding her background.
‘Stree 2’ also features cameos by Varun Dhawan and Tamannaah Bhatia, both of whom played significant roles and appeared in the songs ‘Khoobsurat’ and ‘Aaj Ki Raat,’ respectively. Other tracks from the soundtrack, including ‘Aayi Nai’ and ‘Tumhare Hi Rahenge Hum,’ have also gained popularity.
Akshay Kumar’s guest appearance was a surprising twist for fans, sparking curiosity about his potential future role in the supernatural universe. The movie was released on August 15, Independence Day, and faced competition at the box office from two other films, ‘Khel Khel Mein’ and ‘Vedaa.’
