Earlier this year, Etimes exclusively reported that ‘Raid 2’ is postponed and will not be released this year due to the impracticality of having two Ajay Devgn films release within just 14 days. Director Raj Kumar Gupta has now confirmed to Bollywood Hungama that the film is indeed delayed and provided insights into its potential new release date.
Gupta revealed that ‘Raid 2’ is happening early next year. The exact date of the release will happen from the producers’ side but it’s releasing early next year.
In Raid, Saurabh Shukla portrayed the antagonist, while in ‘Raid 2’, Riteish Deshmukh will take on the role of Devgn’s nemesis. Notably, Gupta’s recent web show ‘Pill’ featured Riteish as the main protagonist, battling against a corrupt pharmaceutical company.
Raj Kumar Gupta mentioned that details about Riteish Deshmukh’s role in ‘Raid 2’ would be shared during the film’s promotions. He noted that it has been a rewarding experience directing Deshmukh in both ‘Pill’ and ‘Raid 2’.
