A video of Salman Khan is being widely circulated on social media, with users claiming that it shows the Bollywood superstar threatening jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. The clip comes in the wake of the recent murder of Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Baba Siddique, a close associate of Salman. Baba Siddique was killed in Mumbai on October 12 by three individuals allegedly linked to Bishnoi.
In the video, Salman can be heard saying, “You are so strong and powerful that you will shoulder the coffin of your family members, you will carry their bier. You have so much courage, why do you want to become Yamraj and Malik-ul-Maut? Why do you want to recite In-al-Allah and Ram naam satya for your family members?”
This video is not recent, nor is it directed at Lawrence Bishnoi. It dates back to 2020, when Salman addressed citizens during the COVID-19 pandemic, urging them to follow the government’s health and safety guidelines. At the time, there were incidents of people attacking medical professionals and disregarding pandemic protocols. Around the three-minute mark of the video, the same lines from the viral clip can be heard.
Salman originally posted the video on his Instagram on 15 April 2020. In the 10-minute-long message, he shared his experiences of living in lockdown and expressed concerns about people ignoring the COVID-19 guidelines.
The video has been misleadingly circulated, making it appear as though Salman Khan is threatening gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, but it is unrelated to the recent events.
