The 1965 war hero Abdul Hamid, who was martyred nearly 60 years ago, is a fitting subject for a film titled Paramveer, as he was awarded the Param Vir Chakra for his valor, said producer Vikram Khakhar. He added that S Ramachandran Srinivasan, the author of his recently released book Mere Papa Paramveer, has painstakingly compiled all the facts and real events of Hamid’s life through years of hard work, dedication, and deep study, ensuring that the film will be grounded in authentic and accurate representation.
Co-producer Anusha Srinivasan Iyer expressed that it took 60 years to bring this story to the screen. However, it should not take so much time to make a film on the life of Paramveer Chakra, along with this, they want to show something in the film that creates passion in the minds of people about military services. She said that it is a matter of pride that the film is based on the book written by Dr. Ramachandran. Every citizen of the country should thank the soldiers. They protect the border, due to which we remain safe.
Khakhar added that the film will deliver a social message, urging people to rise above caste and religion and prioritize their nation. He also noted that this is the first film in India being shot with cutting-edge Hollywood technology, with parts of the movie to be filmed in Veer Abdul Hamid’s native village, Dhampur. The star cast for the movie is yet to be selected, but the film promises to be a poignant tribute to a national hero and an inspiring tale for future generations.
